How to Retrieve Deleted eBay Messages
If you're a regular eBay user, a deleted eBay message could contain key information on your account, or the proof you need to fight for your reputation during a dispute. EBay messages serve as official proof of dispute resolution and payment claims so knowing how to recover your deleted eBay messages may come in handy. It may be a relief to know that all your deleted eBay emails remain accessible for a year. For business purposes, you may want to also consider archiving messages that are about to exceed that amount of time.
Log into eBay with your user ID and password.
Click the "My eBay" link.
Click on the "Messages" tab.
Click the menu item titled "Trash."
Look for the sender of the correspondence or find the message you need by its subject heading.
Check the box within the row that corresponds with the message you want to recover.
Press the "Forward" button to send a copy of the message to the email address where eBay sends its correspondences. You may also move the message to your eBay inbox by clicking on the "Move To" field and selecting "Inbox."
Archive all of your deleted messages for future reference. To do so, select the deleted messages that you would like to archive and choose "Save Messages" from the "Move To" drop-down menu. Choose to archive the messages in the "EML" or "HTML" file format. Click "Continue" and save the eBay email archive on your computer by pressing the "Download Saved Messages" button.
