Instagram is great for so many reasons, but you've probably noticed that it's getting harder and harder to casually scroll through your feed without seeing an array of ads.

Video of the Day

There you are, minding your own business (technically, you're minding the business of everyone you follow, but that's neither here nor there), when you come across an ad for a clothing company you don't care about. Or perhaps it's an ad for a new movie you have no interest in seeing. Or maybe it's a photo advertising the new smartphone you already have. Ads aren't the end of the world, but they're annoying and intrusive.

But guess what? There's a way to get rid of them.

According to Mashable, you can rid your Instagram feed of ads in just a few taps. It's a trick that works on both iOS and Android operating systems.

First, find an ad you don't want to see. Click on Instagram's "reporting" tool. It's the three little dots directly to the right of the sponsored ad name.

Next, click "Hide This."

Instagram will then ask why you don't want to see this ad. Pick your poison.

And that's it. The ad should no longer appear on your feed.

Of course, you'll need to repeat the steps for other ads, but you should start to see less and less ads. The same trick works for the ads that pop up between Instagram stories.

So while this isn't going to save lives, it will at least clear up some space on your Instagram feed, making your scrolling experience a little more enjoyable.
