Move over Cyber Monday, Amazon Prime Day is almost upon us, and it's arguably the best online shopping day of the year. Amazon's annual mega sale event has practically turned into a holiday, so while we aren't recommending playing hooky from work to land the best deals, we're also not not recommending that.

Since 2015, the retailer's sale has been held exclusively for Prime members and, like always, this year's two-day event will be jam-packed with huge discounts on cool and essential products, including tech, household appliances, brand name clothes, beauty products, baby gear, and more.

Here's everything you need to know.

When is Amazon Prime Day 2021?

Amazon Prime Day will take place on June 21 and June 22. Last year during pandemic, the sale was delayed until October. And while the event took place in July prior to 2020, it's happening in June this year.

How do you sign up for Prime Day?

If you're already a Prime member, you don't need to do anything except login to your account and start shopping. If you aren't a Prime member, you can sign up for a free 30-day trial here. Once the 30 days are up, a membership costs $12.99 per month or $119 a year.

A membership gets you free two-day shipping, access to Prime Video, ad-free music streaming, unlimited photo storage, unlimited reading, and so many more perks.

How do you prepare for the best deals?

Some deals go fast, especially the Lightning Deals, which are only available for a limited time or until the items sell out. So, it's in your best interest to make sure your payment method is all squared away, including 1-Click settings and your default delivery. That way all you need to do is literally click one button and you're done.

How to find the best deals?

You can certainly browse for specific products to see if they're on sale, or you can bookmark the Amazon Deals page where all the sale items will be listed. New deals will be added throughout the event.

If you prefer Lightning Deals, which often offer deeper discounts, you can choose to only see those by clicking the drop down menu on the left side of the page and selecting Lightning Deals.

While the deals haven't been released yet, typically the best ones are on Amazon's own proprietary devices, including the Echo, Fire TV, Kindle, and other Amazon-branded products.
