For six years now, Jamal Hinton has been attending Thanksgiving dinner at Wanda Dench's home thanks to a wrong number text. Now Netflix is turning their story into a feature film.

Here's how it started: Dench sent a text to a number she thought was her grandchild. On the receiving end wasn't her grandchild, but Hinton. When she said she was a grandma, he asked for a photo, which she sent. He then sent her a photo of himself at work and asked if he could still come, even though she clearly had the wrong number. She said of course. Hinton posted the texts to Twitter, which then went viral, and the rest is history.

The Thanksgiving Text will be written by Abdul Williams (The New Edition Story and The Bobby Brown Story), with the cast and director yet to be announced, according to Variety.

Dench and Hinton released a joint statement about the news. "We are excited to share our story with the world. We hope it inspires more people to reach out and make connections that they wouldn't ordinarily make. We are so blessed to find a genuine friendship brought together by God from a mistaken text message."
