How to Take the Captions off of a VIZIO TV

Closed Captions (CC) allow people with hearing disabilities to have access to television programming by displaying the audio portion of a television program as text on the screen. Vizio televisions come with Closed Caption features. While they may be necessary and beneficial in certain situations, you can disable CC on your TV if you are currently not using the feature. Disabling Vizio CC is a quick and simple.

Step 1

Turn on your TV is if it is currently off.

Press the "Menu" button on your TV or remote control, and then press the "Right" arrow button to select "Setup." Press "OK."

Press the "Down" arrow button, select "CC," and then press "OK."

Select "Off" to turn off CC and press "OK." Press the "Menu" button repeatedly to exit
