Mozilla Firefox is a popular web browser thanks to its add-on architecture and the ease with which you can modify the open source browser's settings to improve performance. Changing the online video buffering settings can be useful if you are working on a older computer or if you are accessing the web from a slow Internet connection. With just a few adjustments, you can set Firefox to buffer a greater portion of the video, ensuring that you can view the video without interruption.

Change Flash Settings

Step

Launch Firefox.

Step

Navigate to an online video.

Step

Right-click on the video and select "Settings."

Video of the Day

Step

Check "Enable hardware acceleration."

Step

Select the "Local Storage" tab (it is represented by a folder icon).

Step

Move the slider to the right so that additional video is buffered before playing and then click "Close."

Step

Restart Firefox for the changes to take effect.

Install Auto-Buffer Add-On

Step

Launch Firefox.

Step

Navigate to the Greasemonkey add-on installation page (see Resources) and click "Add to Firefox" to install the extension. You will need to restart the browser for the extension to become active.

Step
