How to Cancel an HP Print Job

The Hewlett-Packard (HP) Co. is one the largest technology companies that feature a line of personal computers, printers and software. Its printers are one of its most popular items shipping at more than 1 million a week. As with any piece of electronics, users encounter a slight learning curve while learning how to operate it. You can cancel an HP print job in two ways.

From the Printer

Step 1

Locate the "Cancel" or "Job Cancel" button on the HP printer. The button name may vary slightly depending on the printer model. You can find it on the control panel of the printer.

Step 2

Press the "Cancel" or "Job Cancel" button once to cancel the printing. This will cancel your current print job.

Step 3

Look on the control panel display screen. It should read "Canceling Job." Once the job is finished canceling, the display screen will read "Ready."

From the Computer

Step 1

Right click the HP printer icon on the lower, right corner of the task bar.This will prompt a pop-up window. Select "Open" to open up the printing queue.

Step 2

Highlight the print job you want to cancel by clicking on it. Press the "Delete" key on your computer to cancel the selected print job.

Step 3

Look on the control panel display screen. Once the job is finished canceling, the display screen will read "Ready."
