How to Connect a Vizio Sound Bar to an LG TV
If you don't have enough room for a full surround sound home theater system, a sound bar will still give you improved audio quality without requiring a large amount of space. Vizio sound bars, though manufactured by Vizio, can be connected to any brand of television, including LG TVs. Connecting your Vizio sound bar to your LG TV is just like setting up any other audio device, requiring that you have access to a power outlet and the ports on the back of your television.
Place the sound bar on a flat, even surface in front of the television. To avoid any interference, center the sound bar 6 inches in front of the television.
Plug the DC end of the sound bar's power adapter into the DC port on the back of the device. Plug the AC end of the power adapter into a power outlet.
Place the subwoofer that came with the sound bar on the ground to the left or right of the television.
Plug the subwoofer's analog cable into the "Sub Out" port on the back of the sound bar unit.
Plug one end of the optical digital cable into the "S/PDIF" port on the back of the sound bar. Plug the opposite end of the optical digital cable into the optical digital output port on the back of your television.
Plug one end of the red and white analog audio cables into the red and white "Input 1" ports on the back of the sound bar, only if your television doesn't have an optical digital port. Plug the opposite end of the analog audio cables into the red and white audio output ports on the back of the television.
