How to Convert a .ZIP to an .MP3

By Kiley Mitchell

You don't need to buy a converter to convert a .zip to an .mp3 file. Groups of MP3 files often come in a ZIP file for easier download. The ZIP file contains files that have been compressed to reduce the size of the files. It is a folder that downloads to your computer, which you can then unzip and use the files inside. MP3 files are audio files that often take up a lot of space. Downloading a ZIP file filled with MP3s is a fast way of receiving all the data on your computer.

Step 1

Download the zip file to your computer. Save it in a specific area that you'll remember.

Step 2

Locate the ZIP file on your computer. It will appear as a zipped folder.

Step 3

Right-click on the zip file and click "Extract all." Double-click on the file if you are a Mac user.

Step 4

Choose the location where you want the files extracted. Most computers default to the folder where the ZIP file is.

Step 5

Locate the extracted MP3 files. Test the files by double-clicking on them. If they work, delete the ZIP folder and keep the MP3 files.
