Compressed folders, also called zipped, are a specific type of computer archive file that collects multiple files on a hard drive and condenses them down into one single file. Once compressed into the file, the files contained within take up less space on a hard drive than they would if they were all still extracted. You can find any compressed or zipped folder on your computer by digging around with Windows' search function.
Use your keyboard to type ".ZIP" into the box. Do not include the quotation marks, just include the file extension. ZIP is the file extension of all compressed or zipped archived folders.
Click "Search." A list of all the compressed/zipped archive folders will now appear on screen.
