Comic book archive files use any of several file formats. These files are basically a collection of compressed images, such as pages of a comic book, contained in one file. The format determines which programs you may use to edit them. CBR stands for "Comic Book RAR Archive." Use WinRAR to edit these files. To do this, you first must extract the content of the file and then make changes to the existing images. CBR files display images in alphabetical order, so if you want to rearrange their order, you must rename some of the graphics files.
Right-click on the CBR file and choose to open it with the WinRAR archiver.
Click the "Extract To" button in WinRAR and select a location to extract files. Click the "OK" button, then close WinRAR.
Open the folder where you extracted the files. Add more images to the folder or delete existing ones. Rename them to sort them in a different order.
Select all the images in the folder. Right-click on any one of them and choose "Send to compressed folder."
Right-click on the new, compressed file and select "Rename." Change the extension to ".cbr" to change the file format and make it compatible with programs that read CBR files.
