How to Copy an Image of What Is On Your Computer Screen

Capture what is on your computer screen at that exact moment with just a couple clicks. For example, if you want to share a computer error with a technician, copy the screen, print it out and show him so he has a better understanding of the problem. Or copy the screen of an image that you want to print out and hang on your bulletin board. As long as it's visible on your screen, you can copy it.

Things You'll Need

  • computer
  • time

Step 1

Check that what you want to copy is on your screen.

Step 2

Press the "Prt Sc Sys Rq" button located on the upper right of your keyboard.

Step 3

Launch Microsoft Word, or similar program, and open a new document. Right-click in the document and select "Edit" and "Paste."

Step 4

Print the document or save it to your hard drive.

Tips & Warnings

  • Don't have important info on the screen because it shows everything on the screen just as if you were looking at it.
