How to Create a Comcast Desktop Icon

By Greyson Ferguson

Desktop icons are placed on a computer's main start-up screen, giving easy access to programs and software titles. If you subscribe to Comcast and have the Comcast connection software installed on your system, you may want to create a desktop icon for the program. This prevents you from navigating through the Start menu every time you want to access the content.

Step 1

Click the "Start" button on your desktop, select "All Programs" and hover the mouse over the Comcast Internet program.

Step 2

Right-click the listing and select "Create Shortcut." A new icon appears on the desktop. This is the Comcast program shortcut.

Step 3

Click the icon once in the text area to highlight the text. Type in a new name for the program (if you choose) and then click outside the text box to accept the changes.

Step 4

Double-click the new desktop icon to launch the Comcast program.
