How to Emulate IE on iPad

Apple's iPad tablet comes with its own Safari browser for surfing the web. Unfortunately, not all sites are built with Safari in mind. If you happen upon a website that specifically requires Microsoft's Internet Explorer browser or would like to test your own site with a variety of browsers while using the iPad, you'll need to turn to the App Store for the solution. There are several third-party browsing apps for iPad capable of emulating Internet Explorer.

Atomic Web

Step 1

Download the Atomic Web browser from the iTunes app store.

Step 2

Open Atomic Web and touch the gear icon.

Step 3

Select "Identify Browser As" and choose the version of IE you wish to emulate.

Step 4

Wait while the website reloads based on your browser's new profile.

Terra

Step 1

Download and install the Terra web browser.

Open Terra. Touch the gear icon and select "User Agent."

Step 3

Touch the version of Internet Explorer you are attempting to emulate.

Touch "Close" on the Settings pane.

Step 1

Purchase Perfect Web Browser from the iTunes app store.

Step 2

Touch the gear icon to open the Settings menu.

Tap "Desktop Web Rendering."

Select the appropriate version of Internet Explorer.

Refresh the page.
