How to Find a Password for a Verizon DSL Wireless Modem

By Maya Austen

The login credentials for your Verizon DSL wireless modem are generally the user name and password of the primary account you set up with Verizon when you initially installed the Verizon software onto the network computer. If these credentials don't work, or if you cannot remember what this password is, often the best way to then "find" it is to simply reset it. You can reset your Verizon DSL wireless modem password through the router's Management Console. The router's Management Console is only accessible through the Internet.

Things You'll Need

  • Internet access

Test Primary User Account Credentials

If entering these credentials fails to log you in to the router's Management Console, try simply resetting the password.

Tips & Warnings

  • Resetting your Verizon user account password through Verizon's "Forgot Password" utility, or Verizon's "Forgot User ID and Password" utility--both are available on the Web--does not have any effect on your Verizon DSL wireless modem's password. Therefore, you cannot use either of these utilities to gain access to your Verizon wireless modem. If you do not know the original password used when the primary Verizon user account was set up, your best option is to simply reset the modem's password. After resetting the password, write the new password down and place it somewhere memorable and secure for future reference if the need arises.
