How to Flip a Monitor Screen Upside Down

Many video cards give the user the option to flip their display 90, 180 or 270 degrees. This can also be done from the Windows 7 resolution menu. If you are not running Windows 7 or do not have a video card capable of flipping your screen, you can download iRotate, a free program that will flip your screen for you.

Windows 7

Step 1

Right-click on your Desktop.

Step 2

Click "Screen Resolution."

Step 3

Select the orientation from the "Orientation" drop-down menu. Click "OK" once you have selected your desired orientation.

Video Card Control Panel

Step 1

Right-click on your Desktop.

Step 2

Click on your video card's control panel, which will be listed in the middle of the right-click menu.

Step 3

Select "Rotate Display" from the left menu of the video card control panel.

Step 4

Click the radio button next to the orientation setting you would like to use. Click "Apply," and then close the window.

iRotate

Step 1

Download and install the iRotate software, which is available to users for free. (See References.)

Step 2

Run the iRotate software.

Step 3

Use the following hotkeys to set your screen's rotation: CTRL + ALT + UP = Rotate 0 degrees; CTRL + ALT + LEFT = Rotate 90 degrees; CTRL + ALT + DOWN = Rotate 180 degrees; CTRL + ALT + RIGHT = Rotate 270 degrees.

Tips & Warnings

  • With iRotate, you can reset your display at any time by pressing CTRL + ALT + UP.
