Connect a DVD player to a Magnavox TV with composite cables.

Magnavox TV sets are equipped with three or more sets of audio-video input jacks for connecting with different types of components, such as a DVD player. The standard connection for a DVD player requires a set of composite cables with plugs on both ends for simple, color-coded connections between the player and the Magnavox TV. The set up should take less than 10 minutes.

Step 1

Insert the plugs on one end of the composite cables to the AV output jacks on the DVD player, matching the yellow plug to the video connection, the white plug to the left audio channel and the red plug to the right audio channel. The jacks on the DVD player will have a color stripe around their edge to match each plug for easy identification.

Step 2

Plug in the other end of the composite cables to a free set of AV input jacks on the Magnavox TV, again matching the colors on the plugs to the jacks.

Step 3

Turn on the DVD player and Magnavox TV, then press the "Input" button on the TV remote control repeatedly until the DVD player signal appears on the Magnavox TV screen. The DVD player is now ready to spin discs for playback on the TV.
