How to Recover the Web History on an Android
The Android operating system supports many different Web browser apps. Each Web browser stores your browsing history in a location specific to that program. You can access this history through each individual browser. If you have multiple browsers on your device, their histories are stored in separate locations. If you clear the history tied to a specific browser, you will not be able to restore it.
Tap the "Chrome" icon to open the browser.
Tap the menu icon in the upper right hand corner. This icon looks like a vertical stack of three squares.
Tap "History." This will display your Chrome browsing history. You can also type "chrome://history/" into the location field in order to visit the history page.
Tap the Boat Browser icon on your Android home screen.
Tap the menu icon in the toolbar at the bottom of the screen. The menu icon looks like a list of three items. If your toolbar is hidden, swipe from right to left across the screen in order to reveal it.
Tap "History." This will open your browsing history, ordered chronologically.
Tap the "Dolphin" icon on your Android home screen.
Tap the location bar at the top of the screen. In addition to allowing you to type in a URL, this will give you the option of viewing your bookmarks, most visited sites list and history.
Tap "History." Your Web history specific to Dolphin Browser will appear in descending order, with the most recent pages at the top.
Tips & Warnings
- The Chrome Browser can sync your history across devices. If you have this enabled on your Android device, your browsing history from other Chrome devices using the same Google account will appear.
- Chrome is the native browser on many different Android devices.
- If your device has a different native browser, tap the menu icon from within the browser. This icon is at the top right in most browsers. The option to view your Web history should be listed in the menu.
