Adblock Plus is a prominent advertisement-blocking extension available for multiple platforms, such as Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome and Android devices. As the name suggests, the Web-based app effectively prevents conventional ads from displaying in your browser. However, you may wish to uninstall Adblock Plus and bring back your browser's default functionality. Google Chrome provides one of two ways to remove the ad-blocking extension.

From Extensions Menu

Step 1

Click the Chrome menu icon from the browser toolbar.

Step 2

Highlight the "Tools" menu, then click "Extensions" from the sub-menu.

Step 3

Click the Trash icon that appears next to the Adblock Plus entry.

Step 4

Click "Remove" once the confirmation message appears to effectively uninstall Adblock Plus from your Web browser.

From the Adblock Menu

Step 1

Right-click the Adblock Plus icon, shown next to the Chrome menu icon.

Step 2

Click the "Remove from Chrome" option.

Step 3

Click "Remove" from the ensuing confirmation dialog to uninstall the extension.

Uninstalling Adblock Plus takes place immediately without the need to restart the Chrome browser.
