The .CVR extension is a type of file that is created by Microsoft Windows programs when they crash. The file type can be created by Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook or Word and is used to record and analyze information relating to the crash. The file is then saved to your computer and can be sent to Microsoft using the built-in Windows crash reporter utility if desired. You can also choose to view a CVR file to analyze and determine why a Microsoft program has crashed on your system.

Step

Click "Start," "All Programs" and then click "Microsoft Word."

Step

Click the "Windows Office" button from the upper-left corner of Word and then click "Open."

Video of the Day

Step

Click the .CVR file of choice from the browser window and click "Open."
