The Notes app on your iPhone enables you to jot down or dictate your thoughts on the go. Afterward, you can view your notes on your computer and other Apple devices, and store them within IMAP mail accounts, such as iCloud, Google, Yahoo, AOL and Exchange. Because your iPhone notes arrive as emails in your mail accounts or Outlook, you can't use typical word-processing tools to edit them on a PC. Instead, you'll need a cloud-and-app combo. Of the many options available, none work as seamlessly and straightforwardly with your iPhone as the Notes app and iCloud.
Set Up iCloud
Activate iCloud on your iPhone if you haven't already done so. Tap "Settings" on your home screen, followed by "iCloud." Type your Apple ID and password, and then tap "Use iCloud."

Configure iCloud on your iPhone for Notes. Tap "Settings," followed by "iCloud" and then toggle the "Notes" switch to "On."
Set up a new "@icloud.com" email address if you don't already have one. Tap "Create" and then enter a desired email name. Tap "Next," followed by "Done."
Enable your Notes app to sync with other IMAP mail accounts. Tap "Settings," followed by "Mail, Contacts, Calendars." Under Accounts, tap a Yahoo, Google, AOL, Exchange or other account. Toggle its "Notes" switch to "On."
Make iCloud your default notes generator if you expect to edit your iPhone notes often on your PC. The online Notes app displays only the notes you create in your iCloud account. Tap "Settings | Notes | Default Account | iCloud."
Edit iCloud Notes
Navigate to iCloud.com on your PC. Enter your Apple ID and password. Click the "Notes" icon.
Click on a listed note to edit it. If no notes are listed, create a new one for this exercise by tapping the "Plus" sign. Click anywhere outside the note to exit it.
Tap "Notes" on your iPhone. Verify that your edited or newly created note appears on your iPhone.
Edit IMAP Account Notes
Navigate to an IMAP mail account on your computer, whether in Outlook or a website. Click on its "Notes" folder. Open a note you want to edit and copy its contents.
Navigate to iCloud.com and sign into your account. Tap the "Notes" icon, then tap the plus icon to create a new note. Paste your copied IMAP note and edit it as needed.
Send the edited note to your IMAP account. Tap the "Envelope" icon at the bottom to email it.
Open the incoming email in the IMAP mail website or in Outlook. Move the email from your inbox to the account's "Notes" folder.
Open the "Notes" folder of your IMAP account. Delete the original note that you just edited.
Save the edited note you created in iCloud to keep a record of it in your Notes app, if you wish.
