YouTuber MrBeast's 'Finger on the App' Challenge Went for 70 Hours

MrBeast is a popular YouTuber who creates social challenges for his almost 40 million subscribers. MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, is a a viral philanthropist, rewarding winners with thousands of dollars, cars, etc.

His latest challenge offered $25,000 to anyone who could keep their finger on their phone screen the longest. The rules were pretty straightforward: Players had to download Finger on the App, and they literally had to hold their finger on the screen without removing it. If another app was opened, if any utility was used, or if the finger came off the screen, the player was removed from the challenge. They couldn't even talk to Siri, which apparently accidentally caused several people to lose.

The challenge started 3 p.m. ET on June 30th and was expected to last for a day or so.

It went for 70 hours and ended when Donaldson tweeted that it had gone on long enough, and the remaining four contestants needed to go to sleep already.

Donaldson spoke to a couple of the players to confirm that his tweet calling for the end of the challenge wasn't a trick and they actually could release their finger and still win the money. They were stoked, to say the least.

Each of the four players won $20,000 and hopefully went right to sleep.
