Walmart announced its long-awaited new membership service, Walmart+. It's basically Amazon Prime, but Walmart.
Launching September 15th, Walmart+ will offer free shipping on more than 160,000 items, including groceries, as well as fuel discounts of up to 5 cents a gallon at participating gas stations and other in-store and online benefits.
Walmart+ is taking over the existing Delivery Walmart service. The cost is $12.95 a month or $98 a year. To give you an idea of whether or not it's worth it, Amazon Prime is $12.99 a month or $119 a year, plus access to the Prime Video streaming service.
One little Walmart+ caveat is the requirement to spend a minimum of $35 to be eligible to receive free shipping.
