How to Adjust the Printer Margins in Outlook

By Techwalla Internet Editor

Microsoft Outlook is an email and organization system designed to make your life easier. In addition to email, users have access to calendars, contacts, journal, notes and task lists. Get the look you want when you print by following these steps to adjust the printer margins in Outlook.

Step 1

Look at what you want to print in an Outlook preview pane. Click the preview pane button on the menu bar or choose "Print Preview" from the File menu.

Step 2

Click "Page Setup," and then select the "Paper" tab. In the lower left hand corner of the Page Setup window, you'll see margin measurements for top, bottom, left and right printer margins for the paper.

Step 3

Change the margin values as needed. The Outlook default is often set at 1/2 inch (0.5") for each of the four margins.

Step 4

Click "OK" to save new printer margin settings and return to the page you want to print. Click print.

Step 5

Going directly to "Page Setup" located in the File menu is another option to change margins using a specific printer style.

Step 6

Select the specific style that comes closest to what you want to print, such as "Table" or "Memo."

Step 7

Choose the "Paper" tab again to find the margins in the lower left of the window. Change margins as needed. Click "OK" to close, and then "Print."

Tips & Warnings

  • Create your own style under "Define Printer Styles" by choosing the values for format, paper (including margins) and header/footer. Then under "Style name," insert a new name for your new printer style.
