How to Change the Icon Name on an iPhone

The Apple iPhone has become one of the most ubiquitous smartphones on the market since its first version was released in 2007. Since then, Apple has made it possible for people to customize their iPhones with a library of different applications and functions. You can customize the name of your iPhone as well, with just a few clicks in iTunes.

Step 1

Open iTunes on your computer and connect the iPhone to the computer with the USB cord. Wait for the iPhone icon to appear in the column at the left of the iTunes window below "Devices."

Double-click on the icon name to the right of the iPhone icon under "Devices." This will open the icon name field for editing. Type your new name for the iPhone and click anywhere on the iTunes window to complete the edit.

Step 3

Wait for the iPhone and iTunes to sync. The new name will appear both in the icon name field and in the "Name" field of the "Summary" tab when the iPhone is connected to iTunes.
