How to Change the Surface Color in Catia V5

CATIA V5 computer-aided design software has a range of features that allow you to create mockups of your products. Among the features is the ability to change the surface color. When designing a product in the CATIA V5 software, the default surface color is gray. By changing the surface color of your product, you can get a better look at how the final product looks.

Step 1

Right-click "Part Body" in your project tree and select "Properties." The "Properties" window appears on the screen.

Click the "Color" drop-down menu under "Fill" to open a list of color options.

Click the color you want to use for the surface of your project and click "Apply" at the bottom of the screen. Your project part changes to the color you selected.

Step 4

Move the slider under "Transparency" to the right to increase transparency and fade the color. Move it to the left to decrease transparency and make the color bolder.

Click "OK" at the bottom of the window to save your changes and exit the "Properties" window.
