How to Close the Web Browser in Safari for the iPhone

By Brendan O'Brien

The iPhone, a multimedia communication device made by Apple, comes with Safari web browser. Safari lets you surf the web on the iPhone. When you are finished surfing the web, you can easily get back to your iPhone's home page. Any page you leave open will automatically save until the next time you open Safari.

Step 1

Click the double box icon in the lower right corner of the Safari browser. The number displayed in this icon is the number of web pages you currently have open.

Step 2

Scrolling to the left or right with your finger, find the Safari page(s) that you want to close.

Step 3

Click the red "X" on the top left of the Safari page that you want to close.

Step 4

Tap the "Home" button on the bottom of the iPhone to go back to your home screen. This closes the Safari web browser.
