Use your cell phone as a land line base.

If you have a wireless phone but you want to use it in conjunction with your land line service, you can connect the cell phone to the land line, allowing you to use any land line phone when someone calls you on the cell phone. This allows you to place your wireless phone in an area of the house that receives the best reception, then use a land line phone in the house where the service may not be as strong.

Step 1

Connect a telephone cable into one of the phone jacks in your home. Plug the other end of the cable into the cell-phone-to-land-line dock. You can find such a dock at most large electronic stores.

Step 3

Set your wireless phone into the dock. The dock also acts as a charger, so there is no need to remove the cell phone and charge it.

Step 4

Power on the cell phone. Set the dock listing to "Cell Phone." Now when someone calls your cell phone, the land lines ring and you can answer any phone connected to a telephone jack.
