How to Convert Large Word Files to PDF

You can convert large Word files to PDF using Microsoft Word. If you are on a Mac, no additional software is required to convert your large Word files to the PDF format. However, if you are on a PC, Adobe Acrobat must be installed. For more information about Adobe Acrobat, please refer to the link below in the Resource section.

Mac

Step 1

Open Microsoft Word.

Step 2

Click "File," "Open" and select the large Word file you want to convert to PDF. Click "File" and select "Print."

Step 3

Click "PDF" and select "Save as PDF" inside of the print menu.

Step 4

Title the PDF and click the "Save" button.

Step 5

Repeat these steps for other large Word files you would like to convert to PDF.

PC

Step 1

Open Microsoft Word.

Step 2

Click "File," "Open" and select a large Word file you want to convert to PDF. Click the "Microsoft Office" button.

Step 3

Select "Save As" and choose "PDF" from the menu that appears. Remember, this option will only be available if Adobe Acrobat is installed on your computer.

Step 4

Title the PDF and click the "Publish" button.

Step 5

Repeat these steps for any other large Word files you would like to convert to PDF.
