The Ogg format is a free, open-source audio format that provides users with high-quality audio containing lower bitrates and a smaller file size than many other formats. VLC Media Player, meanwhile, is an open-source audio-video player and transcoder that converts to and from dozens of formats, including Ogg to MP3. Please note that since MP3s tend to have lower bitrates but are larger in size, you may lose some audio quality during conversion. Your converted MP3s will also be larger in size.
Launch VLC Media Player and click the "File" tab at the top of the screen. Select the "Convert/Save" button from the list of options.
Click the "File" tab in the "Open Media" window and press the "Add" button to open a Windows Explorer search screen. Locate the Ogg file on your hard drive. Highlight its icon and click "Open."
Press the "Convert/Save" button at the bottom of the screen to enter the "Convert" window. Click the "Profile" drop-down menu on the right side of the screen. Select the "Audio - MP3" option.
Press the "Browse" button to the right of the "Destination File" field to choose a save location on your computer. Name your file and include the ".mp3" file extension after the name. Click "Save."
Click the "Start" button to begin converting your Ogg file to an MP3.
If you do not include the ".mp3" file extension after the name of your file, VLC will not export the audio file correctly.
