Install an ad-blocking extension in Google Chrome to prevent ads from displaying as you're browsing the Web. Chrome has a dedicated Web Store from which you can download and install free ad blockers. There are a number of highly rated ad-blocking extensions to choose from.
Install an Ad-Blocking Extension
Open the Google Chrome browser and visit the official Chrome Web Store.

Enter "Ad Blocker" in the Search field in the top-left corner of the Web Store and press Enter to display a list of related ad-blocking items available for installation in Chrome.
Scroll down to the Extensions section and click the More Extension Results link.
Click the name of an ad blocker to view its details page. Each extension has a details page that lays out key information about the item, including its features, download size, date of last update and whether it is compatible with your version of Chrome. Each extension also has a user-generated rating out of five stars.
Look for highly rated ad blockers that have been updated recently in order to ensure you're using an extension designed to block all of the latest ad types.
Click the Add to Chrome button to install the selected ad blocker.
Changing Ad Blocker Settings
After you've installed an ad blocker, customize its settings through the Extensions panel in Google Chrome.
Click the three-line Chrome menu in the top corner of the browser window and select Settings from the drop-down menu.
Click Extensions on the menu on the left of the screen to open the Extensions panel.
Locate the ad blocker you want to customize and click its Options link.
Customize the provided settings. What you see and customize here will vary depending on the ad blocker you're using. Most let you set whitelisted domains, websites on which you want to permit ads to be displayed.

Disabling and Uninstalling an Extension
You can also use the Extensions panel in Google Chrome to disable or uninstall an ad blocker that you no longer want to use.
Click the three-line Chrome menu in the top-right corner of the browser window and select Settings on the drop-down menu.
Click Extensions on the menu on the left of the screen.
Remove the check mark from the Enabled box to disable the selected extension. Click the Trash icon to uninstall the extension.
