Make a screen capture in Windows 7. Use the snipping tool to capture your screen or any part of it. No need to download any special software or enter a product key code. The Snipping Tool is free to use for as many screen captures as you need.

  • Windows 7

Step 1

Click on the "Start" button and select "All Programs," "Accessories" and "Snipping Tool." Or type in "snipping tool" in the Start menu's "Search programs and files" text box.

Access other options by clicking the arrow next to "New" and choose how you want to select what you will capture. The choices are free-form, which allows you to capture any shape; rectangular, which lets you draw a box around what you want to capture; window capture, which captures a window; and full screen, which captures your full screen.
