How to Export Evite Contacts to Microsoft Excel

By James McElroy

Evite has an Export feature that can export your Evite contacts to your computer. The website exports contacts in the CSV file format, which Microsoft Excel can open. The file contains information about each of your contacts, such as his name and email address. However, Evite limits the exportation of contacts to only members of an invitation list. To get around this limitation, you need to create an invitation containing all of your Evite contacts then export the list to Excel.

Step 1

Create a new event, then invite everyone in your Evite Contacts list to the event. Include a note that it is not a real invitation or that you are just running a test.

Step 2

Browse to your Evite home screen, then open the new event.

Step 3

Click the "Export Guest List" text link, then select the option to save the file to your computer. Evite names the file "guestlist.csv."

Step 4

Browse to the file's location on your computer. In most cases, Windows downloads files from the Internet to the Downloads folder.

Step 5

Right-click the file, then select "Open With" from the menu.

Step 6

Select "Excel (Desktop)" to open the file in Microsoft Excel.
