How to Export Photos to an iPhone

By Amanda Gronot

You don't often have your computer on hand when you want to show your friends and family a photo of your children or the pictures from your recent vacation. However, your iPhone is almost always conveniently in your pocket. If you want to transfer the photos on your computer over to your iPhone, you can sync your pictures via iTunes just as you do with your music, videos, and apps. Depending on how much media you already have on your iPhone, you may be able to store several thousand photos.

Step 1

Connect your iPhone to your computer, and open iTunes. Click on your iPhone under "Devices."

Step 2

Click on the "Photos" tab above your iPhone information in the center pane.

Step 3

Check the box next to "Sync Photos from." In the drop-down menu next to "from," select the program from which you want to import your photos, such as "iPhoto."

Step 4

Click the circle next to either "All photos, albums, and events" or "Selected albums and events." From the drop-down menu next to this option, you can choose to automatically include specified events. Below, choose to include videos by checking the box, or leave it unchecked.

Step 5

Click "Apply" in the bottom-right corner of the screen.
