How to Fix TV Lip Sync Problems With Time Warner

A Time Warner cable box transmits both video and audio through cables to a television set for viewing. To fix a lip-sync problem -- when the audio is not matching up to the video -- you need to set commands that remove the problem from the cable box, TV and the cable connecting the two together. The procedures do not require any tools and will not harm the cable box in any way.

Step 1

Unplug the Time Warner cable box's power cord from the outlet. Let 10 minutes pass. Plug the cord back into the outlet. Press the "Power" button on the cable box's remote control to turn the cable box on.

Unplug the TV's power cord from the outlet. Let five or six minutes pass. Plug the cord back into the outlet. Turn the TV on, using its remote.

Step 3

Turn the TV on. Press the "Menu" button on the cable box's remote to bring up the menu settings. Select "Other HDMI Settings." Choose "L-PCM" from the list of choices. Press "Menu" again to exit the settings.
