How to Hook Up Speakers to an Insignia TV

By Greyson Ferguson

Insignia is the brand of televisions designed and sold by Best Buy. You can only purchase the line of TVs from either in a Best Buy store or online from the Best Buy website. If you own an Insignia television you may want to connect a speaker system up to the TV. You can do this is very little time, without the aid from a technician or the Best Buy Geek Squad installation specialists.

Things You'll Need

  • Insignia TV
  • Speaker system
  • RCA audio cables

Step 1

Look at the back side of the Insignia TV. There is one audio output located towards the bottom of all the connection ports.

Step 2

Plug the red and white audio RCA cables into the audio out ports. Make sure the appropriate colors of the cables are connected to the same colors of the ports.

Step 3

Insert the other end of the cables into the audio inport on the sound system. If you are using a surround sound system it more than likely has multiple audio inputs. Connect the cables running from your Insignia TV into the "TV" audio ports.

Step 4

Power on the TV and the sound system. You do not need to adjust any of the settings on the television. Press the "TV" button on the speaker system if you are using a surround sound receiver. If you are using a stereo system press the "AUX" button. The audio begins to play out of the speakers. Adjust the volume level on the speakers with the volume dial or with the remote control included with the speaker system.
