How to Keep a Brother P-Touch From Wasting Tape

When you use the Brother P-Touch label maker, the device prints your input onto a label of pre-determined length. This default setting may result in wasted tape if you frequently create short labels. If you estimate the length that your text will be once printed, you can feed this number into the P-Touch and prevent waste.

Step 1

Press the Power key located on the upper left side of the device.

Type your label using the keyboard.

Step 3

Press the "Function" key, located in the center of the P-Touch.

Press the right arrow key until "Length" appears on the display, then press the Return key.

Step 5

Push the right arrow key, then enter the desired label length in inches using the number keys. Press the Return key to complete the process.
