When you use the Brother P-Touch label maker, the device prints your input onto a label of pre-determined length. This default setting may result in wasted tape if you frequently create short labels. If you estimate the length that your text will be once printed, you can feed this number into the P-Touch and prevent waste.
Press the Power key located on the upper left side of the device.
Type your label using the keyboard.
Press the "Function" key, located in the center of the P-Touch.
Press the right arrow key until "Length" appears on the display, then press the Return key.
Push the right arrow key, then enter the desired label length in inches using the number keys. Press the Return key to complete the process.
Specify specific lengths in inches, for example "1.3," by using the "." key located on the right side of the number keys. If you find that your text is too long for the new label length, create two-line text. Move the cursor to where you want the line break to be and press the Return button. To specify a length smaller than an inch, place the "." before the number. For example, use ".5," for half of an inch.
