Your screen resolution determines how large text and graphics are on your screen. A larger screen resolution allows more items to fit on the screen, but in exchange, the items are smaller. Lower resolutions increase the size of objects, but make them jagged. Your video card and monitor both determine what resolutions your computer is able to support. To make your desktop screen smaller, you need to increase your resolution.
Click the "Windows Start" button on the lower left-hand side of your screen.
Click "Control Panel."
Click "Adjust screen resolution," located under "Appearance and Personalization."
Click the drop down arrow located next to "resolution."
Move the slider up to increase your resolution.
Click "Apply" to confirm your changes.
