How to Reset a Comcast Digital Adapter

By Christell York

The Comcast Digital Transport Adapter, or DTA, facilitates the connection between your television, VCR or DVD player and your cable wall outlet to provide premium cable channels. Resetting will correct a number of issues including a lost signal, frozen channels or channels that display a blue screen. Once the device is reset, it may take several minutes to refresh and for your display to return.

Step 1

Locate the reset button on your Digital Adapter. The button will be located on the front or back of your device and will be marked "Reset."

Step 2

Press the reset button and hold it for 5 seconds. The display on your DTA box will turn off and come back on to reset.

Step 3

Release the reset button and allow the DTA to restore.

Tips & Warnings

  • If your modem does not have a reset button, power cycle the device to reset it. To power cycle, unplug the device for 10 seconds and plug it back into an electrical outlet.
