Files saved in Portable Document Format (PDF) have many advantages. PDFs are less easy to alter than Microsoft Word documents, and they will retain their format and appearance regardless of what program is used to open them. Your Microsoft Word file may look great in "Print Preview," but if you send it to a computer with a different kind of word processing software, it may come out scrambled. The file that appears in "Print Preview" can easily be saved as a PDF, so you don't have to worry about losing the format of your work.
How to Save a Print Preview as a PDF
Open the file you would like to save as a PDF.
In the menu bar, click on the option "File" and select "Print."
Click the option marked "PDF" in the lower left corner of the menu box that appears.
In the drop-down menu, select "Save as PDF."
Save the file under a new name. The file you have just saved will be the same as the file that appears in the "Print Preview" window, except it will now be in PDF format.
