The XML file format is one of the many formats that can be opened and edited in Microsoft Word. It is a rich text format used for documents with a lot of specific formatting involved. If you want to open your XML document and convert it to the standard Microsoft Word file format, you can do so using that software. The extension of the file will then go from .XML to .DOC.
