How to Save Microsoft Silverlight Video
Video that is displayed on the Internet may be in a specific format. This means installing specific types of software on your system to view the video. One type of video format that is used on various types of websites is Microsoft Silverlight. If you want to save or download Silverlight videos, there is computer software that is available. This includes programs such as Orbit Downloader, ScreenToaster and WM Capture.
Go to the Orbit Downloader Web page and click the “Download Now” button to save the file. Install the program on your system.
Double-click the Orbit Downloader icon to open the program. Click the “Tools” drop-down menu and select the “Grab++” option.
Open your Web browser and go to a Web page that has the Silverlight video that you want to save. Go to the Grab++ program window and you will see the video listed.
Put a check in the box for the video that you want to save. Click the “Download” button. Select where to save the file and enter a name.
Click the “OK” button to save the Silverlight movie to your system.
Go to the ScreenToaster website and click the “Register” link to create an account, if you currently do not have an account.
Click the “Start Recordings” button to begin the process. Click the “Run” button when the Security Warning window appears on the screen. This will launch the recorder.
Select the option to record the entire screen from the first drop-down menu. Select the audio option from the second drop-down menu. Click the “Record” button to begin the recording.
Go to the website that has the Silverlight video that you want to save. Wait for the video to finish. Go back to the ScreenToaster Web page and click the “Stop Recording” button.
Click the “Download as AVI File” under the Save Video section to save the recorded video.
Go to the WM Capture Web page and click the “Free Demo” button. Click the “Download” button to save the file to your system and then install the program.
Double-click the WM Capture icon to open the program. Click the “Settings” button to set the default options for the program.
Open your Web browser and go to a Web page that has the Silverlight video that you want to save.
Bring up the WM Capture program and click the “Get Window” button. Drag your mouse over an area to select the size of the video.
Click the “Record” button to begin recording the video.
Tips & Warnings
- The ScreenToaster program will have a five second delay before the recording starts.
