Use the Apple Retail Store Genius Bar section of Apple's website to schedule an appointment to see an Apple Genius. While Apple Stores do accept walk-ins, it is better to set up an appointment to avoid waiting a long time before you can get help. The reservation process provides options to select your problem, choose the nearest Apple Store location and set the appointment time.
As an alternative, use the Apple Store app on your iOS device to book a Genius bar appointment. Download the Apple Store app, tap the Stores icon at the bottom of the screen, select Genius Bar and then tap Make a Reservation.
Pick Your Device and Identify Your Problem
Browse to the Apple Retail Store Genius Bar page <atarget="_blank" href="http://www.apple.com/retail/geniusbar/"> </atarget="_blank">and click the Get Help Now text link to open the Product Selection page.
Select your Apple product's category from the list of items, such as Mac.
Choose your specific Apple product from the category's menu. For example, select Mac Notebooks if your product is a MacBook Air.
Select the general topic that deals with your product's problem, such as Internet and Connectivity if your device is experiencing wireless connectivity problems.
Choose the specific topic that addresses your product's problem. For example, if your device no longer connects to Wi-Fi networks, select Wi-Fi Connectivity Issue.
Click the No Thanks Continue button to open the How Would You Like To Get Help Page.
Choose an Apple Store
Click the Visit the Genius Bar box to open the Visit the Genius Bar page.
Enter your home address, city or ZIP code in the Search bar and then click the Go button to display the Apple Retail Store locations in your area.
Click the Choose Store link under the Apple Store location that you want to visit.
Select an Available Time and Date
Enter your Apple ID credentials and then click Sign In to open the Reservations page.
Select the date and the general time of day -- such as the afternoon -- that is most convenient for your appointment.
Although you are making an appointment for a specific time, it is possible that previous appointments may go longer than usual -- which can prevent your appointment from being on time. To avoid possible delays, choose the time of day that has the most available appointments.
Select the most convenient time for your appointment from the list of options.
If possible, select the earliest available appointment to avoid possible delays. For example, set an appointment when most people are at work or on their lunch break.
Click the Continue button to set the appointment.
Review the information on the Reservation Confirmation page for accuracy.
According to Apple, the majority of appointments take approximately 15 minutes to complete.
- If possible, back up the data on your Apple device before you visit the Apple Store for your appointment.
- Upon arriving at the Apple Store, check in with any Apple employee immediately to avoid losing or delaying your appointment. Alternatively, use the Apple Store app on your iPhone to check in to your Genius Bar appointment.
