If you're an avid Instagram user at work, you've probably noticed that you can't access DMs from Instagram's website. It's not a huge deal, because your phone is probably always nearby should you need to send or receive a message, but it's annoying.

Instagram announced that it's finally bringing direct messages to the web, starting with a small test for certain users, with a larger rollout happening sometime in the near future. Instagram hasn't said exactly when.

DMs on the web will work just like DMs on the app. From your desktop, you'll be able to start a chat from the DM screen or a profile page, start group chats, double tap to like a message, share photos, and keep tabs on how many unread messages you have. And if you enable notifications for the entire Instagram site, you'll be able to receive them on your computer.

So, now we wait.
