Worth noting: TechRadar's price reference for the UR8 was $1,799, but that figure was listed alongside a related Samsung model, the QN80F at $1,599, not the QN80H actually used in the brightness comparison. Treat the price and the performance numbers as two separate data points rather than a single matched deal.
Brightness wasn't the whole story, either. The same test found the Hisense's out-of-box color accuracy landed at a 7.9 Delta E score, well above TechRadar's sub-3 target for accuracy, and the reviewer had to manually lower the brightness setting to get better contrast out of the panel. A brighter set on paper wasn't automatically a better-looking one straight out of the box.
Mini-LED narrows the gap between cheap and expensive TVs
Mini-LED backlighting used to be a flagship-only feature. That's changed enough that it's worth treating as close to essential for any non-OLED purchase, per Tom's Guide.
When Tom's Guide checked prices in April, a Hisense U65QF Mini-LED set was selling for roughly $548 at 65 inches and $499 at 75 inches.
