Adobe Illustrator uses the glyphs panel for inserting special characters and symbols such as the copyright symbol or the registered trademark symbol into documents. In Illustrator CS4, the glyphs panel was located in the "Text" menu. In Illustrator CS5, it is located in the "Window" menu. If you have difficulties inserting glyphs into a document using Illustrator CS5, verify your copy is updated to version 15.0.2 or later. Previous versions had issues inserting some glyphs. This was repaired in version 15.0.2.

Step 1

Update your copy of Adobe Illustrator CS5 to version 15.0.2 or later if you have not already done so.

Double-click the registered trademark symbol to insert it where your cursor is located on the document.
