If you need to connect to your computer a device such as a wireless router or modem that needs an ethernet cable to operate faster, you can use an ethernet to USB adapter to solve the problem. An ethernet to USB adapter is a small accessory that modifies an ethernet cable so that it is compatible with a USB port (or so that a USB port is compatible with an ethernet cable) and it sends signals from the external device to the computer more rapidly. The adapter is so easy to use that you won't even need to read the directions once you make the purchase.

Step 1

Attach one end of an ethernet cable to the ethernet port on the ethernet to USB adapter. An ethernet cable looks like a large telephone line and an ethernet port looks like a telephone jack.
