When a picture or video is saved on a computer, it is saved to a directory picked by yourself. If you cannot locate these videos by hand, use the search feature. This feature is built into the computer's "Start" menu and allows you to search for specific files or file types.
Step 1
Click the computer's "Start" button, which is located at the bottom of the screen. The search box is automatically highlighted.

Type in a piece of the file name or file type. Common file types for pictures are .gif, .jpg, .jpeg and .png. Common file types for videos are .mpeg, .mpg, .avi and .wmv. The operating system scans the hard drive for files. All results found appear above the Search bar.
Step 3
Click on a file in the results to open it.
