Find the Adobe Reader Version
Type "Adobe Reader" on the Windows 8.1 Start screen to search for the software. In Windows 7, click the "Start" button and type "Adobe Reader" into the "Search programs and files" box. The number that appears next to "Adobe Reader" in the list of search results is its version. Note that the version number is displayed in Roman numerals -- Adobe Reader XI is Adobe Reader 11.
To see the full version number, one method is to launch Adobe Reader, click "Help" and select "About Adobe Reader XI..." The version number is displayed next to "Version." You don't need to open a PDF file to see the version number.
To upgrade to the latest version of Adobe Reader, open the Download Adobe Reader page (see link in Resources), click the "Install Now" button and follow the instructions to download and install Adobe Reader.
