Your computer's URL code (or Internet address, or IP address) is the address that other computers enter in to access your computer across the Internet. This is a four-section number, such as 123.456.78.90. Locating your computer's URL code is simply a matter of sending a request to a webpage asking the page how it would format the return information to send a message back to your PC. This is a basic procedure that can be done in less than five minutes.
Click on the "Start" menu, go to the "All Programs" list, and open your web browser.
Display your URL code onscreen by navigating to the "whatismyipaddress" website, linked below.
Press the "Printscreen" key to capture your URL address in a file for safe keeping.
Open the "All Programs" list, open the "Accessories" menu, and click on the "Paint" program.
Press "Ctrl" and "V" at the same time to paste the image to a file.
Click on "File" then click "Save As" to save your URL code to a location on your hard drive.
